Khao Kriap Cave is located in the grounds of Wat Tham Khao Kriap about 92km south from Chumphon Town (10km from Amphoe Lang Suan). Take Highway 41 for 85km til you reach the road for Ban Khao Luang on the right. The U-turn is some 500m pass the road. Take the road all the way to Ban Khao Luang and when in the village turn right. Follow this road for 2km going straight over at a cross-roads. The entrance to the temple is on the right and it is signposted.
Go through the temple complex and take the track that goes up the hill on the far side. After about 150m you will come to a set of concrete stairs. These stairs take you up to the Cave. Continuing on the track to the right takes you to a
Stupa and Viewpoint.
You will get some good exercise for they say it's 370 steps leading to the cave
entrance. For those rest stops you will be able to enjoy the wide greenery
scene of Lang Suan district.
At the top of the stairway a seated Buddha greets you to the entrance of the cave.
To the right of the Buddha are some steps leading though a small passageway which takes you into the cave.
Whilst holes in the cave roof let in a lot of light it is still advisable to bring a torch.

There are no made paths so care should be taken as it is slippery in places.
In the far left lower section of the cave we found a colony of bats.
A small travertine terrace on the higher level collects water dripping from the ceiling via massive stalagmite.
All around quartz shines in the torchlight like diamonds.
Visited here today and were very impressed. Very large Chambers and good formations. A wild Cave ie not guided but well lit. Take a torch for the back and beware the shaft at the back. 375 steps up, ring the bell 3 times as you go in and 3 times as you leave. Well Worth the climb!
