Wat Nathikaram Viewpoint
Wat Nathikaram is 76km south of Chumphon town. Take Highway 41 to Lang Suan. Drive through Lang Suan town on Road No. 4002, taking the road to the right immediately before the bridge that crosses the river. Follow this road round to the temple where you will find a concrete road going up a hill.
Wat Nathikaram is on the side of a hill and structures are built on a series of steps/levels as you progress up the hill. On the first main step you will find this Ordination Hall. On the third step/level a seating area is to be found.
Nice place to rest and take in the view looking northwards.
On the next step/level is an image of Buddha which is about 10m tall.
Directly behind the statue you with find a stairway going up to the next step/level. Either side of the stairway are giant Yaksha, who are guardian warriors that keep away evil spirits.
Within the containing a golden statue and a pedestal with a Buddha footprint.
For those not wishing to climb the stairs, the concrete road currently goes as far as this step/level.
Other than finding some tables and chairs not sure the intended use of the next step/level.
The final step/level you will find a large image of Buddha.
The views from the platform the Buddha image is on are very good. This is looking east towards Pak Nam Lang Suan and the sea.
