Wat Thab Chai Viewpoint
Wat Thab Chai is 70km south of Chumphon Town. Take
Highway 41 towards Lang Suan. Just before Lang Suan turn left onto Road
No. 4099 heading towards Park Nam Lang
Suan. After about 6km the 4099 joints the 4002, at the junction turn
left and follow the 4002 for about 3km. The temple is on the left where the road bends beside the river.
Drive through the temple complex up to the Ordination Hall. Here there is plenty of parking and this is where the stairs are up to the viewpoint.

It's about 50 steps to the summit.
It is possible to drive up to the summit where the Buddha statue is. But best do this on a quiet day as there is no passing on the steep road and limited parking at the top.
From here you get a good 180deg view across the plantations. Looking directly south over the Lang Suan river you can see the large standing Buddha at Wat Nathikaram.
Looking westwards you should be able to see the town of Lang Suan but it is amazing how it is hidden by the trees.
Looking eastwards, again it is difficult to see Pak Nam Lang Suan because of the tress but you can see the sea in the distance.
