Ngam Islands

Location : 10.4944002, 99.4187252
Ngam Islands are 20km offshore and really too far to be visited by wide body long tail boats. So the only option is by the larger tour boats running from Chumphon Pier.
There are two islands here, Ngam Big (Ko Ngam Yai).
And Nagam Small (Ko Ngam Noi).
Sadly do not have any decent photo's of the islands due to the boat operator only going to the anchor point. Would be nice one day to organise a photography trip to these islands like we did for the islands off Tambon Dan Sawi.
The most popular trips to the islands are for snorkeling and it is easy to find tours on the Internet for this.
They are well organised and operate in a safe manner. Well worth it for the corals are lovely here.
However scuba diving is the way to really experience this area.
Thai Scuba has a great gallery of all the main dive sites around the islands - Gallery. They have also marked them on a map.
Sadly thought despite having dive sites as good as anywhere else that I've experienced on the eastern coast of Thailand, Chumphon is missed in favour of Ko Tao. Diver shops open and shutdown on a regular basis. Even the one I used a few years back only had six divers on the boat, was very poorly ran and to my annoyance returned to the same dive site the following day (Ko Ngam Noi).  Easy for them I guess! Despite that had four over an hour dives in lovely clear water with loads of sea life to see. Have not dived off Chumphon for a long time now and kick myself when you hear that these have been sighted.
