Pisadan Cave

Location: 10.760163, 99.2293116
Pisadan Cave is located within the grounds of Wat Tham Pisadan and is 52Km north of Chumphon town. Take Highway 4 north for 48Km til you reach the Kapo Forest Park. You will see a sign for the cave by a footbridge.
Take the next U-turn and then take the road to the left just before you get back to the foot bridge. You will see a big blue and white sign for the cave.
Follow this road for 2km and turn left where the sign shows. The temple complex is along this road, about 1km.
The stairway up to the cave is directly in front of you as you enter the temple complex and guarded by two large nāgas.
Before you start your climb up to the cave talk to a Monk to ensure the lighting has been switched on. The climb takes about 20 minutes. Its all concrete steps and trees offer shade from the sun.
The cave is in a hollow so hopefully you have not exhausted all your energy for you have to climb down into the cave. Watch your step as it's steep in places.
On a landing halfway down the steps you get a good view into the first cavern.
The cave is basically 3 very large caverns. Certainly the largest I've seen in all the caves found in Chumphon. Normally the flash on the camera can light up the far wall, but not in this cave, distance to far.
The stairs descend into the middle cavern where you are faced with this wall of stalactites.
Amazing formations all the way round this cavern.
A small opening will lead you through to the third cavern.
This third cavern is huge and a big colony of bats can be heard (not easily seen) in the loft. Whilst exploring this area we were greeted by a Monk.
The Monk lives in the cave in total darkness. He actually asked that we ensure the lights were turned off when we left the cave! It was nice to meet him for he kindly showed us the nicer parts of this section of the cave.
Dirt in the water has given the stalactites lovely patterns.
The 'Caves & Caving in Thailand' website has referenced this as Cave No. CP0075.
There is a lot to explore in this cave with many side passageways/chambers and we were surprised to find we had been in the cave for over 2 hours.
