Wisai Tai Cave

Location 10.3747768, 99.0332726
Wisai Tai Cave is about 40km south of Chumphon town. Take Highway 41 for about 30km and when you see the Chumphon Horticulture Research Center on the right take the next u-turn. Head north about 500m and take the first road on the left. Follow this road for 8km til you see a school on your left. Turn left onto the road immediately after the school. There is a small blue sign in Thai indicating the way to the cave.
Follow the road for about 1km and take the second track on the right. Google Maps does not show this track, however you will see another small blue sign indicating the way.
This track leads you round to the base of the mountain where there are some buildings. The path up to the cave is at the end of these buildings, just before a large pond. There is a small spirit house and you should see electrical cables going up.
The climb to the cave is about 500m and can be a bit slippery with all the fallen leaves. A rope handrail has been put up in places.
The entrance to the cave is rather small and is on your right, just before you come across what looks like a small block hut.
Going though the entrance the cave quickly opens up into a large cavern.
In this large entrance cavern can be found a number of formations.
There is what looks like a fallen stalagmite than has continued to grow giving it an animal type form. The Monks have placed a golden robe on it and wrapped colored cloth. Maybe this is similar to the folklore associated with trees (Nang Ta-khian)
The 'Caves & Caving in Thailand' website has referenced this as Cave No. CP0089.
As you go further into the cave it opens up to a second large chamber
Wisai Tai Cave is a 'through cave' where just after the second chamber a passageway will lead you through to another side of the mountain.
Take care as it must be a shear drop of 100m or more from these openings.
Find with the aid of sunlight this part of the cave is very colorful.
