The Prince of Chumphon Shrine is located within the grounds of Wat Kho Khao some 90km south of Chumphon Town. Take Highway 41 towards Lang Suan. Just before Lang Suan turn left onto Road No. 4099 heading towards Park Nam Lang Suan. After about 6km the 4099 joints the 4002, at the junction turn left. Follow the 4002 for 8km until Road No. 4019 on the right to Lamae. The sign for the 4019 is rather small so keep a watch out. The 4019 forms part of the "Scenic Route" and you will see these signs along the road.
Follow the "Scenic Route" on road 4019 and after 25km Wat Kho Khao is on the left. Its on the headland at the southern end of Kho Khao Beach.
The Prince of Chumphon Shrine is a concrete replica of the motor vessel Chen Thale.
This ship took the Price of Chumphon (Abhakara Kiartivongse) back to Bangkok when he died in Chumphon in 1923.
The actual ship was built in 1901 for North German Line (NGL) weighing 440 tons and its original named was MV Tacheen. In 1917 Thailand interned and later seized as World War 1 reparations the ship and renamed her the Chen Thale (Jane Sea),

It is also worth going further up the hill and exploring the grounds of Wat Kho Khao. Photo's can be found in the Temple Blog - https://chumphontemples.blogspot.com/2022/05/wat-kho-khao.html
