Sua Kaeo Cave
Location 10.346349, 99.008639
Sua Kaeo Cave is located in the grounds of Wat Tham Sua Kaeo some 50km south of Chumphon town. Take Highway 41 for about 35km till you reach a junction, you will see a large PTT LPG station on the right slightly further on. Turn right and take this road for 15km. There is one T junction on this road, where you must make a right. When you get to Ban Khao Lan the entrance to the Wat is on the left.
The track takes you straight to the cave entrance which is at the back of the Wat and just past the school on the right.
Whilst not a big cave, Sua Kaeo offers a lot to see of varying things, from bats to even a small travertine terrace.
Access to the cave is easy, down two short flight of steps.
On the left as you go down is a concrete statue of a lion/tiger.
The cave entrance is a large chamber with a Buddha shrine towards the end.
Going behind the Buddha you will see a narrow passageway with concrete pipes at it's base, beside the travertine terrace.
The passageway is only 5m long and comes through to another chamber. This chamber is smaller than the entrance but is home to a colony of bats.
From this chamber the cave forks. Both passageways leading to openings in the eastern side of the hill.
In addition to the main passageway there are a number of small side passageways to explore.
This cave does have a stream running through it, however the Monks have installed concrete pipes for a large part of it's route. Only short sections can be seen.
The 'Caves & Caving in Thailand' website has referenced this as Cave No. CP0063.
Found this frog on the travertine terrace during our last visit.

On a large rock in front of the cave sits this statue of a big (fat) Buddha.
