Phra Namo Cave

Pra Namo Cave is found within the grounds of Tham Phra Mon Monastery and is 18km south of Chumphon town. Some 12km from the town, along Highway 41, take the junction turning right towards Khun Krathing. Follow this road for 4Km til you reach the cross-roads in Ban Khao Wong. Turn left here and after 2km turn right.
Continue straight down this road which will lead you to the Priest's Camp Site. When we first visited in 2016 it was easy to see the cave from where you park your car. It was especially nice to see the Buddha in the large opening.
This view is now blocked by what looks like the start of an Ordination hall.
From the Ordinal Hall it was still possible to see the Buddha looking through the opening.
Access to the cave is by steps to the right of the Ordinal Hall.
In the entrance cavern a reclining Buddha has been placed.
To the left of the reclining Buddha you will find a doorway which leads you further into the cave.
The cave goes into the hill about 30m and is V shaped. Not many formations to see and only a small colony of bats in residence.
The 'Caves & Caving in Thailand' website has referenced this as Cave No. CP0076.
The large opening has a good elevation and is above the tree line. Found it a nice place to rest and take in the view.
