Thale Sap Cave

Location:

Thale Sap Cave is in the grounds of  Wat Tham Thale Sap and is 44km north of Chumphon town. Take Highway 4 for some 38km until you reach Tha Sae. Turn right at the intersection onto road No. 3201, signposted for the airport, and travel about 7km until you see the entrance to the Wat on the left.
The cave is at the far end of the temple complex where there is a small hill. A nice pathway and steps leads you round to the back of the hill where the cave is located.
Tham Thale Sap is a big through cave of about 100m in length. Through its entire length a concrete platform has been constructed. The underside of the platform is rather dirty from the droppings of the bats which have taken up residence
So access to the cave is by way of the concrete platform.
The 'Caves & Caving in Thailand' website has referenced this as Cave No. CP0067.
At the southern end of the cave a large white Buddha statue stands.
At the northern end is a smaller golden Buddha statue.
Either end of the cave you have a good view down onto Thale Sap reservoir.
