Thung Maha Bay Viewpoint

Thung Maha Bay Viewpoint is on the hill beside Wat Kaeo Prasert some 74Km from Chumphon Town. Take road No. 3180 out of Chumphon Town. After 21km turn right onto road No. 3201 which forms part of the "Scenic Route". You will see these signs along the road.

Follow the "Scenic Route" on roads 3201, 4004, 3253 and the 4015. The road up to the viewpoint is on the left some 12Km after turning onto the 4015.

The road goes all the way to the top of the hill. Do take care as it is very steep and narrow in places. At the top you find this beautiful large Buddha statue painted with a speckled white paint making it look like marble.

From the platform in front of the Buddha you get a good view towards the east of the lovely Thung Maha Bay.

It is also possible to look towards the north up to Tham Thong-Bang Boet Beach. 

When approaching from the north the Buddha up on the viewpoint is certainly a predominant feature.
