Khao Ong Viewpoint

Khoa Ong is about 78km from Chumphon town. Take Highway 41 south from Chumphon and turn west just before Lang Suan onto Road No. 4006. After 8km on the 4006 turn left onto a small concrete road (opposite a gas station).

After 1km on the concrete road take the first turning on the left.

This road goes all the way to the top of Khao Ong. Sadly though about 2k from the summit a barrier blocks the way so if coming by car you have to park up here. A motorbike can go around the barrier.

The walk is on a tarmac road, however it is all up hill and in places rather steep. Certainly good exercise.

As you get higher there are good views through the trees.

At the top of Khao Ong you find a telephone repeater station.

Many aim to be at the summit in the early morning to see the fog in the valleys. This was our views in March 2018.

Sometimes the fog is not so thick. This was our last visit.
