Khao Kluay Viewpoint

Location 10.5494012, 99.1178204
Kluay Hill (Khao) is 13km west of Chumphon Town. When you leave Chumphon town heading towards Bangkok it is the first hill Highway 4 goes over. The viewpoint is on the left, after the bend when you come up the hill, just before Wat Khao Kluay.
After turning off the Highway take the first track on the left. This track goes all the way to the summit of Kluay Hill where you will see this rather ornate building.
Stairs at the back of the building will allow you to go up to the balcony. From there you get good views looking both east and south. In the other directions trees block the view.
Sadly, as been the case for some time now, Chumphon town is lost in a light smog so can not get a clear view. However looking across the plantations you can see Ma Yang hill.
A little further north you can see Tham and Hoi Khong hills.
As you drive up to the viewpoint on the right are these statues.
And worth checking behind the statues for you will find these Monks, well statues of.
I'm not keen on visiting temples for it is where Thia's leave unwanted dogs. And depending on how they are treated the dogs can become aggressive and/or diseased. However here, whilst they were fairly vocal, the dogs were in extremely good condition with their tails up and shiny coats.
