Phru Takian Cave

Location 10.8341641, 99.2599525
Phru Takian Cave is found within the grounds of Tham Phru Takian Temple some 54km north of Chumphon Town. 48km along Highway 4 from Chumphon town take the U-turn after the Por Ta Hin Chang Shrine (where all the banana stalls are). Travel back 1km and take the paved road to the left. 4km along this road take a left at the crossroads.
The entrance to the temple is 1km up the road on the right.
Drive through the temple and as the road bends round to go up the hill you will see two large rocks painted in gold on your right.
Behind the one pictured above you will find stairs going up to the cave.
At the cave entrance you will find steps leading down.
At the bottom of the steps you join a narrow passageway with runs parallel to the face of the hill.
The passageway is about 50m long leading to other openings in the hill.
Large parts of the cave walls were very smooth indicating at one time a good amount of water ran through.
But this was a long time ago as nice stalactites had since formed. The stalactites were rough in texture, looking more like brain coral.
The 'Caves & Caving in Thailand' website has referenced this as Cave No. CP0101.
Remember to bring a good torch for whilst lighting has been installed (very badly) it does not work.
