Arunothai Beach

Arunothai Beach is 55km south of Chumphon Town. Take Highway 41 from Chumphon town for some 50km til you reach the Khao Pip intersection (a Tesco store is on the right just before the intersection). Turn left at the junction taking Road No. 4096, heading east to Pak Nam Tako. After about 10km turn left onto the 2016 which will take you to the Beach.

Arunothai Beach, also known as Hat Arunothai, is a 3-kilometer long beach. Swimming in the sea is really only possible at high tide. Sadly due to the nearby Bang Mut river the water is seldom clean.

Towards the north end of the beach you get a good view of the nearby islands. These islands are Ko Yo, Ko Muk and Ko Mapharo and a closer look can be found in this Island Blog - https://chumphonplaces.blogspot.com/2017/06/islands-off-tambon-dan-sawi-2.html

At the southern end of the beach are a number of fir trees which offer nice shade from the sun. Seating has been provided.

There is also a pathway for a beach walk.

At the southern end of the pathway you will find the Bang Mut river.
