Phra Yuen Waterfall

Take Highway 41 from Chumphon town for some 50km until you reach the Khao Pip intersection (a Lotus's store is on the right just before the intersection). Turn right at the intersection onto road No. 4139 heading towards Khao Thalu. After 16km turn left onto road No. 4014/4139, then another left after 14km.
Take this road/track for 9km which ends at the Priest's Camp Site. There are 3 junctions and on each make a right turn. At each junction a blue sign marks the way.
The waterfall is within the grounds of a Priest's Camp Site. The area is very nicely cared for and contains a number of religious statues.
The Priest's Camp Site is in a sort of horseshoe shape valley with mountains on 3 sides.
Within the Study Hall (have assumed as we found many books) can be found a large reclining Buddha.
Not seen often these days is the swastika sign on the Buddha's chest! In Buddhism the word swastika comes from the Sanskrit svasti, which means good fortune, luck, and well-being. Regrettably nowadays most people associate it with World War II, where Adolf Hitler used it (in a reversed form) as the party emblem.
Interesting to note the architecture of the building housing the Buddha. Very modern in design, quite a departure from the traditional large halls found in other temples.
The actual waterfall is not that big. Personally found the well kept grounds around the waterfall the nicest part of our visit.
Should note that during the dry season the river dries up.
