Wat Choeng Kra Viewpoint

The viewpoint at Wat Choeng Kra is 23km south of Chumphon town. On Highway 41 (Asian Highway 2), some 10km after the Thung Kha PTT gas station, take Road 2010 to the left (opposite the big Golden Buddha). Travel down this road for 3km and take the track on the left.

The track takes you up to the temple ordination hall, being on the western ridge of the small hill.

Walking around the ridge it is possible to get a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. Whilst only 50m above sea level everywhere else around is fairly flat. Looking west towards the mountains.

You get a great view of the Golden Buddha at Wat Khao Chedi.

You have a birds eye view down upon the shrimps farms with there rotating aeration wheels.

Looking north up the coast you can see the mangrove forest.

Looking south east down onto Thung Kha Bay.

It is possible to walk further up the hill where there is a large Buddha statue.
