Chong Luk Gah Cave

Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kgPWgcZNB5GsTAbn9

Chong Luk Gah cave is 44km south of Chumphon town. Take Highway 41 for about 34km til you reach the Don Wa T Junction (there is a large PT gas station on the right just after the junction). Turn right and after 7km there is a T junction (just after Wat Nam Cha) where you must make a right. Take the first road on the right 2 km after the T junction.
Travel down this road for just over 1 km to where currently a palm plantation just ends on the left. You will need to park up here.
Walk along the track in the palm plantation till you reach the side of the mountain. It is raw jungle here but on the right you should see some concrete water storage cylinders and the path up to the cave is just to its left. Its about a 300m walk in all and the last part whilst a little overgrown is not difficult.

The cave has a large entrance.
As you enter you find yourself is one large chamber.
The cave has some lovely colours from extensive green fungi and staining through silt laden water.
We found water in the cave and the start of new stalagmites.
Something a little different was that we found some stalactites that are forming sideways. This is known as eucladioliths (bended stalactites), whereby stalactites grow toward light under the influence of microorganisms, algae which needs photosynthesis for growth.
