Khao (Hill) Roi Yot is found some 25km south of Chumphon Town. 14km along Highway 41 take the junction turning right towards Khun Krathing. Follow this road for 6km and turn left heading for Tham Sing. Go along this road for 3km til you reach a T junction. Turn left and then right after 100m just before Wat Tham Sing. 300m along this road turn left and then turn right 350m further on. 1 km down this road on the right is the small road up to Khao (Hill) Roi Yot.
Now care must be taken on this small road for whilst it is concrete it is very narrow (one car wide) and steep in places. 1 km up this road, where there is a T junction you will find a small plateau. To the left of the road up a short rise you will find a nice viewpoint looking over the valley below.
Now if you venture straight on at the T junction the road will take you over a rise to an area which has been developed for camping. Toilet facilities can be found here.
This area in known as Pha Ta Ood's Cliff after the owner of the land. He has landscaped the area making it a pleasant place to view the valley below.
If you turn right at the T junction the concrete road ends at the steps up to Sila Snake Cave.

Sila Snake cave is a small cave under a large overhang.
The cave was named after villagers saw a large snake. Some of the rock formations they consider are in the shape of snakes.
As the cave is at a fairly high elevation it affords a nice view eastwards.
Across the valley you can also see the flag on the summit of Khao Roi Yot where the viewpoint is.
To get to the viewpoint you have to take a small track about 50m back along the concrete road. This track takes you to the base of the hill where it is an easy 200m climb to the summit. However this is not easy to find so best to ask Mr Long (ลอง) on 085-7841968 who lives at the house by the T junction. He kindly showed us the way to the summit.
Worth the effort for from the summit of Khao Roi Yot you have a 360 degree view of the surrounding plantations.
You can even look back at Sila Ngu cave. Well hidden by vegetation but you can just make out the steps.
