Ban Huai Sai Khao Monastery is 67km south of Chumphon Town. Take Highway 41 from Chumphon town for some 50km until you reach the Khao Pip intersection (a Tesco store is on the right just before the intersection). Turn right at the intersection onto road No. 4091 and travel 15km towards the village of Khao Thalu. You will see this road to the left which you need to take.
About 2km along this road you will find the entrance to the Monastery is on your right. From this road you get a good view of the valley.
The road eventually ends at a large pavilion. (It was seeing this pavilion on Google's satellite image that sparked interest in our visit).
The pavilion provides shelter for a large statue of Buddha.
The foundation wall around the pavilion has been decoratively tiled. Certainly depicting the local farming community.
It is possible to walk further up the hill by taking a steep track behind the Pavilion. This eventually leads to a rubber plantation.
In the gaps between the trees you can get some nice views.
