Laem Thian (Candle Headland)

Laem Thian (Candle Headland) is 18km southeast of Chumphon Town by taking road No. 4119 and 4098. At the end of Pharadonphap beach (Road 4098) you will see big white fuel storage tanks on your left. 400m past the tanks take the road to the left.

This road takes you down to a small fishing village. Follow the road round to where it ends at a load of coconut trees. A short walk through the trees takes you onto the headland.
The headland is between Pharadonphap Beach to the north.
And Hat Pha Daeng Beach to the south. You can see the Red Rock of Pha Daeng in the distance. Hat Pha Daeng sea defence stone wall ends at the headland so it is also possible to walk along it from the fishing village.
Laem Thian is a small stone causeway and gives a nice advantage point for the surrounding area.
Trees have grown on what is like small island when the tide is in. Not sure the type of tree but an image search say they are Divi-divi trees.

The headland creates an ideal place for shellfish to grow and is a popular place for harvesting at low tide.
