Ao Thungmaha Pier

Ao Thungmaha Pier some 61Km from Chumphon Town. Take road No. 3180 out of Chumphon Town. After 21km turn right onto road No. 3201 which forms part of the "Scenic Route".  You will see these signs along the road.

Follow the "Scenic Route" on roads 3201, 4004 and 3253. In the village of Ao Thungmaha turn right, some 9Km after turning onto the 3253. The pier is 150m down this road on the right.

There is a small carpark at the beginning of the pier.

This looks like the third pier built here and can not be more than a year old at the time of this blog.

Would estimate the pier to be just over 100m long and has a nice covered walkway.

Looking south from the pier you get a good view of the headland with Wat Khao Thung Maha sitting on the top.

Northwards you look along Ao Thungmaha beach with the big Buddha at Wat Bo Samrong in the distance.

If you are looking for a beach in this area, Ao Thungmaha Beach is one with the easier access.

At the end of the pier looking north-eastwards you should get a good view of Wiang Island. Sadly it was very misty the day we went.
