The best place to start when looking around Mount Krata Park is the fishing pier on the Pak Nam Tako river. The pier is some 78km south of Chumphon town. Take Highway 41 for some 50km til you reach the Khao Pip intersection (a Lotus's store is on the right just before the intersection). Turn left at the intersection taking Road No. 4096, heading east to Pak Tako. After about 10km turn right at the cross roads and then left after 500m onto Road No. 4012 heading for Lang Suan. After about 5km there is a T junction where you turn left heading towards the Chumphon Fishery College. The tarmac section of this road ends at the pier where there is a large parking area.

On our last visit to the pier it was not being used and seems abandoned.
You certain have a nice view of the fishing village of Pak Nam Tako from the end of the pier.
To the left of the pier are mangrove. These have certainly grown since a previous visit. Maybe the result of the pier no longer being used.
At the back of the carpark, halfway up the hill is a Chinese grave. It's a good viewpoint but please be respectful.
Also at the back of the carpark is a track that runs round the base of the hill, on its seaward side. If your car does not have much ground clearance maybe best to walk. It's not far to where the breakwater starts, the river meets the sea.
By continuing round the track you will find the shoreline becomes rocky.
