Sampaothong Reservoir

Sampaothong Reservoir is located just north of Wat Tham Sampaothong and is 14km south of Chumphon town. The track to the reservoir is directly off Highway 41 on the side of Bangkok bound carriageway just after PSI electronics store.

Note - Unsure if this is private land or not but there are no gates or signs saying no entry.

Was advised that the reservoir was an old quarry where soil had been dug out for construction of the Chumphon bypass (Road 4058). Said to be very deep.

The reservoir water looks very clean and in fact a nearby coffee shop uses the water for their fish pond.
