Khao Phang Forest Park

Location 10.5721055, 99.1160791
Khao Phang Forest Park is a large area to the north west of Chumphon Town. The main entrance to the park is 16km from town and can be seen on the right along Highway 4.
On the right as you enter the park you will find a shrine dedicated to Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, 28th child of King Rama V, honoured as the father of the Royal Thai Navy and Prince of Chumphon.
In memory of his Naval background you with find pieces of ordnance at the base of the shrine.
The road that runs up the hill goes through a wooded area. There are paths into the trees for a nice shaded stroll.
Towards the top of the road there are cleared areas. Not sure what is going on here but think its still work in progress.
Where the road ends there is are large clearing. Again not sure what this is for.
From this clearing there is a trail which will take you to Khao Phang Viewpoint. Have not taken the trail, on the to do list!
