Saphli Beach

Saphli Beach is 22Km north east of Chumphon town. Take Road 3180 out of Chumphon till you reach a humpback bridge over a small river with many fishing boats. The beach runs for a couple of kilometers on the right hand side of the road after the bridge. It is the next bay north of Thungwualaen Beach.
Saphli is a long curved sandy beach. If Thungwualaen Beach is busy or you can not find parking this is a great nearby alternative.
Overlooking the beach is Khao Dinsor and you can just make out the Raptor Center.
At the southern end of the beach there is Saphli Pier. Worth taking a walk along to see what the fishermen have caught.
About 1km down the beach from the pier is a small shrine to the Prince of Chumphon.
The Prince of Chumphon was Admiral Prince Abhakara Kiartivongse, also known as Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak or Sadet Tia. He played a pivotal role in Thai history, especially regarding the Royal Thai Navy. He was the 28th child of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V).
Shortly after the shire the buildings stop and the beach is more as nature made it.
