Ban Hin Kop Pier

Ban Hin Kop Pier is 43 km north of Chumphon Town. It is on the headland after Ao Bo Mao Bay and just before Coral Beach. Take road No. 3180 out of Chumphon Town. After 21 km turn right onto road No. 3201 which forms part of the "Scenic Route".  You will see these signs along the road.
Follow the "Scenic Route" on roads 3201 and 4004. 10Km along the 4004 you have to take a right turn. No sign post, but its opposite Ban Hin Kop school and where there is the red pedestrian crossing.
This road will take you to the beach. The road only runs along side the beach for a 100 meters up to the Lomprayah building.
It should be noted that the pier is privately owned and is closed at night.
We went to the Lomprayah building to ask if it was OK to walk the pier and was kindly allowed.
The beach north of the pier is used by the local fishermen.
South of the pier is a nice sandy beach but is rocky, which are exposed a low tide.
The pier is about 500m long and is nice for a stroll.
As you walk along the pier you have a nice view of the coral and fish.
At the end of the pier you have a good view of Koh Kai island. Sadly it was a little hazy when we visited.
