Tawanchai Beach
Tawanchai Beach is 95km south of Chumphon Town. Take Highway 41 towards Lang Suan. Just before Lang Suan turn left onto Road No. 4099 heading towards Park Nam Lang Suan. After about 6km the 4099 joints the 4002, at the junction turn left. Follow the 4002 for 8km until Road No. 4019 on the right to Lamae. The sign for the 4019 is rather small so keep a watch out. Follow the 4019 along the coast for 30km. The beach is on the left and starts about 1km just after Wat Kho Khao.
Tawanchai is a long curved sandy beach. Coconut trees line the beach which offer shade but take care not to sit directly under. Sadly water generally not that clear due to being close to the Lamea river estuary.
Its a very quiet beach so normally you will have it to yourself. Also we did not find any places to eat so best bring a picnic. If visiting on a Sunday the nearby Taikiam's Sunday Market is a great place to buy those shacks.
